Code of Conduct

MedVetPathogens delegates are expected to behave in a professional manner, showing courtesy and respect to all conference delegates and staff, regardless of contrasting and/or opposing views.

We will not tolerate any form of discrimination, as defined as unfavourable treatment based on age, gender, gender identity and expression, race, ethnicity, physical appearance, religion (or lack thereof), political association, or other personal characteristics.

We will not tolerate any form of harassment of delegates or staff, defined as unwelcome, offensive, intimidating, threatening behaviour that hurts another. This includes offensive verbal comments, inappropriate language and imagery, unsolicited photography or recording, sustained disruption of conference proceedings and misuse of power/taking advantage of a power-imbalanced relationship.

Impairment from the consumption of alcohol will not be accepted as an excuse for unacceptable behaviour.

Delegates breaching the code of conduct may be removed from the event and may not be entitled to a refund or expenses. 

If you are being harassed, discriminated against or bullied, notice that someone else is being harassed, discriminated against or bullied, please contact a MedVetPathogens committee member (identified by label on name badge) or contact the The Prato Centre reception.

The following acts are prohibited at the Monash Prato Centre:

  • smoking or the use of naked flames
  • running, or stepping/climbing on railings/parapets, shelves, chairs, tables or furniture
  • drinking and/or eating outside the specifically dedicated areas
  • obstructing, even temporarily, escape routes or safety exits
  • impeding access to protective equipment and/or the visibility of safety signs
  • unauthorized entry into areas of the Prato Centre not associated with the conference

TERMS & CONDITIONS

Payment terms

At the end of your online registration, you will be asked to pay securely via credit card. You will be sent a receipt upon submitting your registration and payment. Your registration is not confirmed until full payment is made. If you register during a period of discounted or early bird rate, you must ensure that full payment is made before the discounted period ends, otherwise the full registration cost will apply.

Registration Cancellation Policy

Should your circumstances change, and you are unable to attend the conference, you must contact the conference organizers no later than 30 days prior MedVetPathogens 2025 commencing. Should you cancel less than 30 days prior to the commencement of the conference, no refund will be payable.

Refund Processing

Shop Monash is used for registering for the MedVetPathogens conference and all payments. Please go to their refund policy page then use the contact us form on their website. Refunds will only be processed to the credit card or payment type of the individual, organisation or institution from which the payment was received.

Conference Cancellation or Postponement

MedVetPathogens 2025 accept no liability if an event is cancelled or postponed for reasons beyond their reasonable control resulting from an act of God, governmental regulation, fire, war, terrorist activity or civil commotion.

If under the above circumstances the committee elect to cancel MedVetPathogens 2025, the liability is limited to a refund of registration costs, subject to fees and conditions. The conference will not refund any travel or accommodation costs associated with the cancellation of the event.

Unforeseen Circumstances / Force Majeure

If any act of terrorism, civil disturbance, industrial action, epidemic, natural disaster or event beyond the MedVetPathogens 2025 committee control prevents us from conducting any or all scientific sessions, or any catering/social activities associated with the conference, we will not be liable for non-performance or refund.

Insurance

Delegates are strongly advised to secure appropriate travel and health insurance. MedVetPathogens 2025 accept no responsibility or liability against cancellations of bookings, loss or inconvenience or theft/damage to belongings in this regard.

Program Alterations

MedVetPathogens 2025 reserve the right to alter, without prior notice, any of the arrangements, timetables, plans or other items relating to the conference for any cause beyond its reasonable control. The organisers are not liable for any loss or inconvenience caused because of such alteration.
